Property of the script line: Quark Pages.
To select or change the QuarkXPress file used:
1.Select this property in the properties inspector and click on the ellipsis button.
2.In the file selection dialog that then appears, select the QuarkXPress file you wish to use.
3.Click on INSPECT.
Once the inspection scan is complete, depending on your preferences, the name of the selected file may then appear in the scripts editor, as shown on the right.
•Both Quark Pages and GridTemplates are normal QuarkXPress files, as far as QuarkXPress is concerned. The difference lies in the way Q++Studio treats these files. Q++Studio will scan a GridTemplate for tokens, but will ignore the contents of a Quark Pages (even if it contains tokens).
•The scan performed here is only used to determine the size and number of pages of the QuarkXPress file selected. This information is used to update the # Defined Pages property and verify that the selected file's height and width do not exceed the values set in Size: Height and Width.
•By default Q++Studio will use all the pages of the selected QuarkXPress file. If you wish to use only certain pages, set the Selected Pages property appropriately.
Contrary to the QuarkXPress files used in the GridTemplate property, the QuarkXPress files used in Quark Pages are not saved in the shared database. This is because of potential file size problems; a GridTemplate usually has 2 pages with few if any graphics, while a plain QuarkXPress file may have over 30 pages with many graphics.
If the selected QuarkXPress file has later been modified, moved, or deleted, an error message will be generated, preventing you from executing the current script (in the case of the Grid Template property, it is only a warning). This is the case, even if the file was only modified, since that could mean that the size and/or number of pages has been modified.
