A fixed unit is the smallest unit of size used internally by both QuarkXPress and InDesign, and is defined as 1/65536 of a point.

Fixed units are also used in Q++Studio as parameters of the box positioning and resizing macro functions.

In terms of everyday units, this means that:

A point is 65536 fixed units.

An inch is 4718592 fixed units.

A millimeter is approximately 185771 fixed units.

Use the helper functions SizeMm, SizePt, and SizeIn, to convert the units of your choice into fixed units.
