Use these day tokens when you wish to have different type attributes for the first letter of a weekday.

 

The token [D] gives you the first letter of the weekday, and [Dd] and [DD] give you all the other letters. So, for example, on Tuesday, October 12:

 

•[D] = T

•[Dd] = uesday

•[DD] = UESDAY

 

Some remarks:

 

•By default, all these tokens are based on the values you set for the [dddd] token (see section, below).

•If you wish to have [D] converted independently of the values of [dddd], then set a translation for [D] in the tokens manager, as shown on the right.

•By default, [D] is replaced by the uppercase version of the first letter of the [dddd] or [D] translation value. If you wish the [D] token to convert to lowercase, use the corresponding lowercase [D] token GridOption.

 

These are mixed source tokens and, as such, their value will depend on their translation in the tokens manager.

 

Using the value of [ddd] instead of [dddd]

 

To base the conversion of either of the present tokens on the value of the [ddd] token rather than the [dddd] token, append the :sh modifier to the end of the token. For example: [Dd:sh] and [DD:sh]. The use of [D:sh] is also possible, but it is rarely used, except for languages where the first letter of the weekday names differs from the short to the full version of the name (an example is Catalan).
