This message occurs if you are trying to scan or generate a diary while QuarkXPress is already open, but QuarkXPress has not finished closing because it is asking you if changes to an open file should be saved.

Respond to the QuarkXPress queries (such as: save changes to file ?) to let it shutdown; this dialog will then automatically close.
