This diary generation message occurs when inserting a PDF page as an image, or using Slogans, Saras, or Macros to replace a textbox by a PDF, while using QuarkXPress 8-2015.

The PDF Box option of Slogans, Saras, and Macros, corresponds to the same name option in the QuarkXPress, Import dialog used to import PDF and other graphic files, as shown in the image on the right.

When using QuarkXPress versions 8-2015, the default TrimBox setting would be used by QuarkXPress, corresponding to the size of the final, trimmed, page.

As such, if any bleed was included in the PDF, it will be trimmed-off (not present). If you need your PDFs to bleed, when using QuarkXPress 8-2015, then you need to modify your PDFs, using PitStop, for example, so that the MediaBox and TrimBox of your PDFs are the same size, and include the desired bleed.
