The data used to calculate Moon tokens comes from the moon data source and calculation options script property, while the diary grid property sun and moon display options specify how this data is displayed.

Displays a symbol for the phase of the Moon, everyday. This token requires the option to show 1/8 phases of the Moon to be turned on and a symbol to be defined for each of the 1/8 Moon phases, in the sun and moon display options.

Displays the time at which the moon rises, transits and sets every day.
Note that on some days the moon will not rise or it will not set (never both). This occurs on average every 30 days, You should make sure that you specify what text, if any, to display on these occasions, using the no time setting of the sun and moon display options.

If you need more control over the formatting of the time at which the moon rises, transits and sets, you can use planetary tokens, where the Sun and the Moon are treated as planets, and which offer a wide range of formatting options. |

Moon day (tithi) |
Displays information about the Moon day, also known as Tithi in Indian calendars.
Reference time
By default, the Moon day tokens is calculated based on the phase angle calculated at the end of the day (23:59:59.9999), which is the standard. To have the token based on the Moon phase angle calculated at a different time of the day, and/or to specify how the above tokens are displayed when there are 2 lunar dates in a given solar day (eg. 30/1 or 30-1 or 30+1, ...), use the lunar days options. |
