The special characters token to use to insert a Next Column character in QuarkXPress and InDesign is

This character will make any text that follows it start in the next column or, if the text is already in the last or only column, then it will move to the next linked textbox (ie. this token behaves the same way as a next linked box token if there is only one column in a textbox, or the text is already in the last column).
