The images used in scripts and templates data report is accessible via the scripts/data reports menu of the main window, and shows, the image(s) used by the selected script(s).
This report is very similar in presentation to the fonts usage report, and similarly is also available via the current script used images menu of the main window, in which case, the list of images and QuarkXPress or InDesign files that use them, is limited to the current script.
Which images are listed
The list of images is obtained from:
•The images that are linked/contained in the QuarkXPress and InDesign files of the templates and info pages of the selected script(s).
•The PDF files that are used in the pdf pages scriptlines.
•The images used in the slogans sets used by the selected script(s).
•The images specified as the result of a sara.
Which images are not listed
The images used in the resulting actions of a macro are not listed in the present report.
This is because the inserted graphics file's full path name is determined by the value of sRESULT which is itself the result of any possible macro (where, often, the path and file names are constructed separately, based on the token date, and therefore cannot easily be obtained by looking at the macro's source code.
Presentations
Detailed Presentation
The default presentation of the images used in scripts and templates data report shows the detail of each image as it is used by each DiaryGridLine, Quark Pages or InDesignPages script line in an advanced data grid which can then be used to group results by template or by date or by script.
![]()
Clicking on the Show Summary Only check-box at the bottom-left of the report window then displays each image only once, with the number of scripts and templates in which it is used, as shown in the image on the right. |
Summary Presentation
Sometimes, a more synthetic report is desirable, one that only lists the images used and the number of scripts and/or templates in which each image is used.

Image Status Column Values
As discussed in the topic of templates properties, the main possible values for the IMAGESTATUS column are:
STAT_OK |
This is the perfect case; the image is located where QuarkXPress or InDesign expects it to be, and that image has not been modified since it was last updated in the QuarkXPress or InDesign document. |
STAT_MISSING |
The image cannot be found where QuarkXPress or InDesign expects it to be. This status would correspond to the scanning warning 182095. |
STAT_MODIFY |
The image is located where QuarkXPress or InDesign expects it to be, but that image has been modified since it was last updated in the QuarkXPress or InDesign document. This would correspond to the scanning warning 182100.
Note that this status is only obtained from the QuarkXPress or InDesign files. The status of images listed from the slogans sets used can only be STATUS_EXISTS or STAT_MISSING. |
Images used in QuarkXPress and/or InDesign Files
This means that the images information of the present report will be present for any InDesign document, but only for QuarkXPress documents scanned or inspected since July 2019.
Any QuarkXPress file listed in this report, and which has not been re-scanned since July 2019, will be listed with the status STATUS_NEEDS_RESCAN and the mention NO_IMAGE_INFO. Re-scanning/Re-inspecting all QuarkXPress files (from the QuarkXPress menu of the main window) will fix this issue.
The NO_IMAGE_INFO Codes
This section applies only to very old QuarkXPress scripts and templates (not saved since before 2021) and does not apply to any InDesign script or template.
One of the corresponding ImageStatus codes is STATUS_FILE_MISSING, which means that the file was never scanned with image information (ie. since July 1st, 2019), and that at the present time, it cannot be found in the location where it was first scanned from.
The status codes STATUS_NEEDS_RESCAN is discussed next.
Images used in script line properties
This section applies only to very old QuarkXPress scripts and templates (not saved since before 2021) and does not apply to any InDesign script or template.
A reminder will be displayed, as shown on the right, for scripts selected in this report, and which have not been saved since July 2020.
